This is a very nice hotel in the centre of the town if a bit pricey, it costs 20NZD to get your car parked and internet is 29NZD. The room we had this time was not as nice as the one we had on our first visit. It had a quirky layout with walls at odd angles. It made a change from boring rectangles that city centre hotels suffer from.

... geothermal activity that the town is known for. The park where we stopped was full of thermal pools. Some of crystal clear water and some of thick mud. There's also a pool where they filter in some of the thermal water, so we dipped our feet in for a bit before continuing the drive. From Rotorua we started heading for Napier on the east coast in the hopes of spending a couple hours on the beach. On the way we came across Kerosene Creek which ...
