We were up at 6.00am with a taxi booked for 7.00am to take us to the airport. Hopefully our Auckland flight would be on time! The weather was much calmer and we left on time at 8.10am. The flight only took just over an hour so we were out and about in the city by 11.00am. We booked a ferry trip to Devonport on the North …
Today we come to terms with the ending of our holiday as we spend the night back where it all started in Auckland. We did not head straight back but took a tour round the Coromandel Peninsula, passing through Coromandel itself.
What to do in Auckland? Particularly on a grey day? Neither me or Andy had a plan for Auckland, we had read a little last night about possible activities, but had no set plans. This is a very nice hotel in the centre of the town if a bit pricey, it costs 20NZD to get your car parked and internet is 29NZD. The room we had this time was not as nice as the one we had on our first visit. It had a quirky layout with walls at odd angles. It made a change from boring rectangles that city centre hotels suffer from.
