... boarding very small boats in a cramped tunnel then descending into what would be absolute darkness. The only reason it was not darkness of course was the presence of thousands of glowworms lighting up the inside of the grotto like the night sky. ... Bar. The Monkey bar is really cool as it is a nightclub in a old Cathedral, where you have disco balls hanging from the top of the cathedral ceiling. The place was massive and had some really good songs, when the place started to fill up it becamea real good time, with the dance floor packed and cheap drinks, we stayed there till 3pm, stopped off at the American Embassy (McDonalds) for a burger before heading to bed.

I also saw a seal on the drive up there, from a distance I thought it was a dog, then as we got closer I wondered what was wrong with this 'dog' as it couldn't walk properly... then it dawned on me that it wasn't a dog after all! The next day we went to the free Otago Museum which mostly focused on Maori and Polynesian history, migration and culture. We then set off on the journey to Wanaka.

... enough we headed back to the camp-site, to see what was happening for new year. We decided that the kitchen was the best place to start, but there was no one there. We ate some soup and drank some gin and tonic (followed by some more) and decided to see what was on the TV. It turned out that there was no New Year programming at all. Direccion Dunedin, nos paramos en otra de esas cosas misteriosas que Regis decia que no eran naturales y que las habian puesto los humanos. Son unas bolas de piedra que estan en la playa y son esferas perfectas que segun cuentan parece que se formaron en el interior de la montaña por sedimentos y esas cosas, y con la erosion la montaña va soltandolas y caen al mar... Så er den første uge med skole overstået. På grund af en forholdsvis stor indtagelse af alkohol, er det desværre ikke alt der står helt klart. Men skal prøve at huske så meget som muligt... Den forgangne uge kaldes her i Dunedin for Re-Orientation Week. Det vil sige den uge, hvor alle forelæsninger blot er informationer om hvad, der skal ske i løbet af semesteret. After we got back to Dunedin I had dinner at a Lebanese place.  I had a lamb pita, which was excellent.  The next day, of course, was the Taieri Gorge Railway trip.  It was a lot of fun, as I mentioned.  I'm not sure I have anything to add until I get some pictures posted.  Dinner Saturday night was Indian.  It was also quite good.  I think that's all I have to add for now.  Hopefully I'll post some pictures soon.
