          ... in to the museum - Sami, Viking, and more recent history. Highlight was the Overhogdal Viking tapestry, (800-1100 AD) thought to pre-date the Bayeux tapestry. Beautiful. Wish we had had a second day to absorb all of the museum exhibits.

          So much fitted into one day, thanks to our great hosts. First went to see Stone Age rock carvings in the river rocks at Glosa. Then to a farm where the ladies were making traditional flat bread - delicious. Stopped at a lookout to admire Swedish mountain cows - looked like reverse Fresians, white and black, not black and white!

          Left Orsa and set off up north. Travelled across country, dodging intermittent torrential rain, lunch at Svenstavik. Arrived at the site of a cave, after a 200 metre steep uphill climb. The brave of the group descended into the Hoverbergsgrotan cave, lit up with coloured lights. Around the hill then on to the lookout ...

          ... and this special museum was built around it. 98% of the boat is original and they have done a marvelous job at preserving and displaying the boat.

          We joined onto a tour then watched a movie about the history of its construction, sinking and finally its restoration. Due to the Brackish nature of the Baltic sea it is now the best preserved boat of its time in the world!

          ... I forget my pads so I walked around in fear of another mishap on my one last remaining pair of pants. Joy.

          There is a beautiful lake and a rune on the other side of the lake so I went to check that out. Then I went downtown to find a pawn shop to buy another camera from. I talked him down to 300 kronor from 400. Go me. Later we had dinner at Petter and Klara.s and then met their friend Caroline.
