Scandic Opalen Gothenburg

Nu har vi vaknat upp här hemma, nöjda efter gårdagens firande. Känns helt rätt att bli avvinkad med vänner och skumpa i en jättetrevlig bar! Jag (Jossan) är särskilt nöjd med att få så fin feedback över mina resrädslor och har nu lärt mig att vi i själva verket har en enormt välplanerad resa och att inget kan gå fel och att OM det går fel finns det proffs på flygplatsen som tar hand ...

Ja här är en av väskorna som ska få äran att förflytta våra ägodelar till andra sidan Atlanten!

Det är onsdag idag och vi tar oss ner till Malmö på söndag för att flyga från Köpenhamn på måndag. :)

Gothenburg proved to be a delightful second city. It was full of ethnic restuarants, shopping, and public transit in the shape of a tram or trolley. On Thursday I went on my own to see St. Vincent at a very small club, which was very cool. St. Vincent has a fanbase largely consisting of tall males, taller males than me. But I managed to find a decent spot. I made friends with a Dutch girl at the show (not blonde this time) who was at the festival with her dad, and ended up talking with them for most of the night ...

Packed and prepared for departure; had one last trip to Slottsgaten to the petting zoo; AND went to the U2 concert with Linda and Magnus (after Annika ...

... town, stayed at a great hostel, Dalagarde, pool, football mini golf, was great.

Went to Liseberg, the amusement park in the city, arrived there at 1, left at half 8, seemed like 30mins rather than over 7 hours!

Off to Copenhagen next ....

... on, we wandered the quiet streets of the old town and enjoyed the picturesque buildings, stopping at a book store and grabbing a cheap lunch with some coupons a street promoter girl had given us earlier. ... in Sweden knew English so well. Every location I went to I spoke to the staff in straight English, not even thinking to speak slowly so they could understand, and every time I got a perfect response back without even the slightest bit of hesitation. After dinner it was time to watch Claes' nephew Rasmus play some indoor soccer. As we walked into the arena we got a nice English greeting from the announcer who had mysteriously been tipped off that we were ...

... everywhere closes at the same time so there are masses of people in the streets, the difference being it was about 4 in the morning, not 11 at night. We crashed at about 5ish I think. Damian had made a fantastic breakfast. Bacon, eggs, tomato, toast, the lot!!! David was absolutely rooted and wanted to go back to bed but I wanted to go back to the fountain for another skate.
