Kolding, Jutland, Denmark meluebke... can work wonders. She always taught me how important family is and that, no matter what, family will always come first and always be there. My dad has provided me with more wisdom and advice than I can even begin to put into words. He has taught me that, though patience is not my virtue, it is a virtue and something so important in life. They both taught me what it feels like to receive unconditional and unwavering love from someone because that is what I have ...
Kolding, Jutland, Denmark meluebkeOK so there's only 8.3 Danish krone to the pound & and we had 3 kids so we always new Denmark was going to be punishingly expensive. However it was worth going, most museums have either cheap entry or low price for kids. Just returned from the Viking open air village in Ribe (Jutland) & the buried ship museum at Ladby in Funen (Fyn). Also the viking ship museum in Roskilde (Sealand). All places were very ...
Middelfart, Fyn and the Central Islands, Denmark tucker47Stayed in Aarhus as our sleep over stop, mainly becasue Billund has no hostels! Didn't do anything on our night there, as it had taken us about 8 hours to make it there from Berlin, many change overs on trains!

Went to Legoland on the second day. It was ace! Though many children running around, & they seem to think that Criel as an amazing city in Scotland. We eventually got water rides, something whcih we have been looking for since we started!
Billund, Jutland, Denmark s.cruickshank... and loved getting to see the miniature versions of important cities in Denmark (Copenhagen Harbor, the palace, etc) as well as other places such as Sweden, Hollywood, and the Statue of Liberty! We went on variety or rides and had French Hotdogs for lunch. I enjoyed all of the rides, especially the water one where I got wet! My wholeback was soaked for at least another half an hour since I went down straightback. It was an ...
Billund, Region South Denmark, Denmark annalise.mWe spent the day at Legoland in Billund and having visited Disney World at the beginning of the summer I took note of a few interesting differences. In general, one thing I've noticed about the Danish culture is how there seems to be a great deal of freedom and trust amongst the people. There were a lot of children at the park; however, I none were on leashes like the ones I had seen at Disney World! Some had their phone numbers written in sharpie ...
Billund, Jutland, Denmark annalise.m... 3 guys speak English quite well. Thomas, Han, and I chatted a lot about addictions, language, cultures and various other topics. Han was playing a video game on his laptop and Thomas talked about how that was all he did for a long time and that he failed a year at school because he was addicted to the online gaming. Even though his family told him to stop he couldn't until he realized it himself. Now he rarely plays. He ...
Kolding, Jutland, Denmark cobra1899... to admit I didn't eat much. Still it was lovely seeing them again and their daughter Emilie. Marianne arrived around 2pm and had coffee with us. She was in high school with Niels and has of course always know Jane as Jane's mother was not only Peter's aunt but also my godmother. We got back to Marianne's just after 5pm. She went to do some shopping while Peter and I packed. An other nice dinner, with both the boys. It has been great to see them ...
Fredericia, Jutland, Denmark friiskiwi... like we were the only ones on the planet! Ten years it may have been since we saw them, but for all of us it felt like yesterday... perhaps not their kids though, now young 14 and 16 year old adults, who we had last seen at our place as gorgeous cute young things of 4 and 6! All lovely, relaxed people, Celina a bit more fiery (like myself at that age perhaps!), we felt instantly at home and it was soo good to be there with them ...
Fredericia, Jutland, Denmark chalmersfamily... krona on gas and head across the border into Germany. After a few directional challenges we finally are able to park near the center of town. In the train station we are able to make reservations just outside of town, which gives us access to Hamburg via bus and train. We purchase the "Hamburg Card" which gives us free travel on buses and trams in town for 24 hours, plus ...
