Farewell to Ghana, Views from Berlin and Denmark

We spent the aft**noon wand**ing around a village of old houses from all ov** Denmark, set up for tourism purposes, which had some great historical items and a nice old-fashioned feel to it. We are spending this evening at Claus's sist** Sara's place in Aarhus, and have enjoyed anoth** great meal of v**y long pork sausage ...

First Few Days in a Foreign City

Hello everyone!!
Well I arrived here in Aarhus, Denmark on Thursday and it has been nonstop action the entire time. Learning the bus system has been a bit of a challenge considering everything is in Danish (the hardest and most confusing language I've EVER heard) but I am making due with the best of them. And yes I have gotten lost a couple times, once at 3:30 am and had to walk about 4-5 miles before being able to flag down a cab and have him take myself ...

Yet another museum

When I visited Kattegat Centret I participated in a survey, and for that I got a free ticket for an other museum in Jutland. That ticket I used to go and see Randers Regnskov (rainforrest)

It was quite impressive how they've build an African, an Asian and a South ...

Day with Anand and Dorthe in Aarhus

... followed along with us. This was the Church of our Lady. The treasurer's name was Jorn Johan Svendsen and he was ultra friendly and said he liked Americans.

There was a beautiful serene courtyard beside the church and the senior citizen's residence. Dorthe, Anand and I were looking for a place to sit down and have a Bible Study and discussion. We asked Jorn if we could use the courtyard. There was a table a shade tree ...

City on the river.

Silkeborg was a beautiful little city built around it's river. It had walking paths by the river, and in the summer had river cruises. Such a pretty place. One thing that caught our attention was the garages for boats, complete with roller doors and all.

More viking stuff

Another viking museum called Moesgard. Fantastic. There was also a forest walk that was replanted in various sections with trees that grew in different time periods of Denmarks history. One section was planted with trees from one particular era, and another section with another era, etc. You'd call it a giant open-air flora museum. It was beautiful, even in winter. There were also things like an iron age house and a stone age barrow and a more recent fishermans house etc.

Aarhus, Denmark and London, UK

... with its own little kitchen and a balcony overlooking the canal. Have done some emailing and am going to go out for a drink and dinner. For the enxt couple of days I´ll be doing a SA8000 audit on a small import-export company. Sounds as if they have nice people working there. Thereafter London to meet Jonathan Hanreck and the rest of my team...

Århus, August 12, 2007 - Sunday

... of a city where alienation wasn't so palpable as in some other places in this world. I continued my wandering, almost merely following my own nose, until I finally found railway station. From there, I went up the Ryesgade street, then another Søndergade street, only this time in Århus, reached Sankt Clements Torv and there I closed the full circle. My sightseeing of Århus ended there with a hope that one day I would be back, only with more time on my hands. Århus obviously deserves that.
