Oslo, Oslo, Norway cariverga... From there we transferred to The Flåm Railway, one of the worlds steepest railway lines on normal gauge. It twisted and turned 2800 feet down to the small town of Flam, on the Sognefjord, stopping along the way for a quick photo opp, including a singing woman, at the Kjosfossen waterfall.

The Sognefjord is the largest fjord in Norway and the 2nd longest in the world ...
Oslo, Norway chronometersRewind to about two years ago. When I told a friend that I would be going to Scandinavia, she had quite the reaction. She said, "Scandinavia? I'm so jealous! If there's anywhere in the world that's better than Canada, then it's gotta be in Scandinavia." And I thought to myself, wow, she is so correct. For many years now, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland have been known for having a really high standard of living and quality of ...
Oslo, Norway sqmTim drove from Tromoy/Arendal in the morning, encountering very heavy rain for most of the 250 km trip. The girls boarded a train in Bergen for the 6 1/2 hour trip to Oslo. I (Tim), followed my mapquest directions into the city but streets were not marked according to the map nor was the ...
Oslo, Oslo, Norway tschaeff3... things on my list. The weather had gone to our advantage overnight and now it was a clear, sunny day with great visibility making it perfect conditions to enjoy the snowy environment. To take full advantage of the weather we began with a trip on T bane line 1 to Frognersetern to look over the city. The plan was to take the train from the main station but it looked as though the remnant snow (there's a lot) was getting the better of the public transport system. The next line 1 ...
Oslo, Oslo, Norway v1213... pic) [Janna & Greg] from Oklahoma. A quick walk from the ferry and we were at the museum, which was swamped. It was fascinating, and we were in and out in 30 minutes or so. Michael was on a mission to see everything and at one point said he didn't want to see anything, just show up and take a picture and go. Carol and I just looked at each other.... Like father like son? Needless to say he was stressed out, and had to be reminded several times ...
Oslo, Oslo, Norway ohiolair... afternoon, taking in the city centre and just taking a general look around. It was cold, so opted for a bite to eat before calling it a day. Already we were finding Norway really expensive and knew we had to watch our spending! The next morning we had an earlier rise, grabbed some breaky from a small store and headed to the Edward Munch Museum. This was something Stace and realyl been looking forward to. I didn't know much ...
Oslo, Oslo, Norway stevea... girls run a fierce press and an exceptional motion game, and our posts Kari and Shelby can fit into either one. I'm looking forward to good games in Sweden. The Norwegians and the Danes, by the, wish us farewell with only one consistent and fond hope: 'Beat the Swedes.' We depart on an early train tomorrow from Asker to the Oslo Central Station, and then are on the 9:28 am from Oslo to Stockholm, a 6-7 hour ride across the breadth of Scandinavia. MOre later
Asker, Norway scott.wilson.pt... a walk up Karl Johans street. I was a bit surprised to find it almost as crowded as in the day, It was nothing like Trondheim(that's the city where I live) where most of the streets are abandoned after 8 o'clock.... (Don't get me wrong, there's still nightlife here to, but not so centered in one place..) As we went to sleep that night we knew that the next day would probably be the most exhausting of the lot....
Oslo, Norway camilia... to me in Norwegian (which was a bit scary to me). I asked her if she spoke English and she said that she did, apologized for speaking to me in Norwegian like that and repeated what she was going to say. She wanted to know if I wanted butter for my toast or anything like that and I told her no thanks and she left. As weird as my meal sounded, it was actually quite good. The hamburger was actually tasty fried like that and ...
