... bikes inside it and everyone practically lives in it. I think that the creepest part of the name is that for some reason ther are ALWAYS real bees in the house as well. We have absolutly no idea how they get in, but everyday there is at least one bee flying around. WEIRD! go to: http://youtube.com/watch?v=kjDgKlDfb8U &nbs p; to see our bee hive
Hamar, Norway tingaSo I am kinda at my first down moment here in Norway. I have a really bad infection on one of my teeth implants... It's so bad that the gums are swelling over half of my tooth. It is not pretty, and it is very painful. It is also frustrating when you have to go to a dentist office where they do not speak English. Even though Britt, my roommate, was there to interpret for me, our advisor person, Knut, was supposed to be there to help me and the dentist ...
Hamar, Norway, Norway julieflickner3... And we sent an appoligy email to her... But it was so much fun anyways (except for maybe the puking part)! So check out the pictures on here! I guess I could also mention that on Thursday we went on the oldest still running steam boat in the world! It was so much fun! Nice two hour trip around the largest lake in Europe: Lake Mjosa... Which is in the town that we live in! There are some pictures on here of that too... Havent met anymore hot Norwegians yet... wish me luck!
Hamar, Norway julieflickner3... or anything though, so it was a bit more difficult. The scenery at this point was perfect and so worth it, even if it was a bit scary! Finally we reached our destination, which from afar looked like quite the mysterious place that could possibly be of interest. When we got there, however, it was just an old abandoned building with graffiti all over it, but in a way it was so beautiful, for what it was. We took some good pictures of our ...
Hamar, Norway korvette923... here... hopefully soon I will get a new one where you can actually see his face... but take my word for it, he is very CUTE! Anyways enough for now... I will try and post again soon... Dont forrget to look at all the pictures... My camera is broken, so these are from other people, but you can still see the fun and beauty of where we are! Love ya all! oh yeah, there are some pictures from the Church Ruins museum that we went to, too!
Hamar, Norway julieflickner3... sure my screams are still giving the local wildlife nightmares btu Im proud to say I didn't fall off once, not that it would have mattered anyway because the snow was halfway up our calves and very soft. Saturday night I stayed in with the kids and watching Austin Powers 2. Still funny even in Norwegian. Today (Sunday) we are going skiing and snowboarding so hopefully I don't break any bones as that could ...
Hamar, Norway mooskaa... the college (which wasn't ready for me anyway...grrr) so I left at the beginning of their lunch break. I thanked the teacher and she asked me if I would like to come back again (which of course I would!) but I told her it would not be possible because of this horrendous paper that I have to turn in on Tuesday. Anyway, just before I left, one of the students came up to the teacher to ask her if she knew of a place to send and international fax from ...
Hamar, Norway mannalie... cooked turkey and amazing meal. I was also thankful for the chance to share a tradition with students that have never experienced something like it. We shared the story of Thanksgiving, made a toast with our wine and enjoyed each other's company. It was the perfect evening and I really felt like a family. I thought that I would miss out on so much by not being at home for Thanksgiving. But I realized that I was having my own Thanksgiving with my new family. I couldn't have ...
Hamar, Norway jess06... three months. The finished product does not need cooking but is eaten as it is. Rakfisk is usually served sliced or as a fillet with raw red onion, lefse, sour cream, and almond potatoes. Although not an everyday meal, approximately 500 tons of rakfisk are consumed in Norway annually. We ate it almost exactly as described minus the almond potatoes. I can't say I hated it because I really didn't, but I don't think I would want to eat a lot of it all the time. Lutefisk sounded ...
Hamar, Norway jess06... from school. It was so nice to just chat with her because we haven't done that in awhile. Its funny that even with all this "free time" that I talk about, I still haven't been able to sit on the computer and chat online. I keep telling everyone we have time to catch up when I get back. It is so true. Alright...its almost quarter to 2. I have failed with getting to bed. Even my rommie beat me to bed. I'm quite impressed. Miss you all! Write me sometime if you'd like!!
