Initial greeting and assistance could have been better, but after that service and assistance from other staff was good. No fridge in room, but otherwise room was very good and very good breakfast service.

This is our third time: the first was on the Funchal in June 1999 and the second was also on the Boudicca in July 2008. This is the first time we’ve done it in the winter. :-)

After about a half hour we reached the dock for the glacier, the sun was shining and no more breeze so we quickly warmed up on the 3/4 mile walk to the glacier viewing point. While viewing the glacier we had coffee and Norwegian sweets. The boat ride back to our ship was about 2 hours because we had to catch up to it in ...

Today we returned to Alesund, no not the Ny Alesund we visited a few days ago, but we have been to this pretty place before,so chose to go to some of its outer Islands, which was a good choice, small and pretty places of Giske and Godoy, fishing and farming, reached by a series of lengthy tunnels and a large bridge.
The farms well, very small, and still the cows not to be seen, but torrential rain yesterday, ...

... they started the race. There were a number of races on as the entire drive down we saw various activities in progress; mainly running but also walking, cycling and some sort of land skiing. The other main point on the route is Trollstigen. This is an impressive if touristic lookout over a valley and the road winding down the cliff into it. It was worth the visit but absolutely packed with visitors. We got to Ålesund in the evening just as the ...
