      Great spot for a stopover,
Centrally located with everything within the town easy walking distance.
Staff were great, cheerful and helpful.
Menus were good and well priced.

About 15-20 minutes walk out of town on the main street which suited us very well.

The Sawridge inn was welcoming (ok, so we had an aussie on the front desk) and the decor was quite reasonable. On first impressions walking through the front doors the hotel appears roomy and options exist for meals or a few drinks.

The suite we had was a fabulous size though the bathroom vanity could have been a bit bigger.

Breakfast was not over-priced compared to many hotels Ive stayed at and the choice wide enough to suit most people.

Outside, the squirells were quite good entertainment and if you drive a car there was plenty of parking.

Lastly, the hotel has a guest laundry which, to any of us travelling for an extended period, is most welcome and cost effective.

We stopped at the Icefield Centre, and hopped on the bus to the Athabasca Glacier. Then changed buses, to The Bus (purpose built). The Rocky Mountaineer engine drivers were in constant communication with Brandi and Jas, and if they saw a bear up ahead the message would be relayed throughout the train. Brandi would scream out the message, resulting in all passengers diving to the designated side of the train with cameras ready. Time and again the ...
