About 15-20 minutes walk out of town on the main street which suited us very well.

The Sawridge inn was welcoming (ok, so we had an aussie on the front desk) and the decor was quite reasonable. On first impressions walking through the front doors the hotel appears roomy and options exist for meals or a few drinks.

The suite we had was a fabulous size though the bathroom vanity could have been a bit bigger.

Breakfast was not over-priced compared to many hotels Ive stayed at and the choice wide enough to suit most people.

Outside, the squirells were quite good entertainment and if you drive a car there was plenty of parking.

Lastly, the hotel has a guest laundry which, to any of us travelling for an extended period, is most welcome and cost effective.

... rant, but seriously, who decides the City of Edmonton infrastructure planning? When you have construction on all major highways at the same time in addition to numerous common routes all headed in the direction of downtown....there has to be some sense of ridiculousness there? Ok, rant over.

Sadly, I had to say goodbye to my colleague Katrina who will be missed. Otherwise, it was nice catching up with colleagues, working out again ...

... was a baby black bear, just sat there watching us. You’re not supposed to get too close, so like good citizens we didn’t back all the way up next to it and besides we were on a blind bend so it wasn’t really too safe, although the chances of a car flying around the corner around here were pretty minimal. No my main concern was if the baby bear was a decoy and while we oohed and arrhhed at it, mummy and daddy bear would come and steal our car stereo and ...
