    Great spot for a stopover,
Centrally located with everything within the town easy walking distance.
Staff were great, cheerful and helpful.
Menus were good and well priced.

About 15-20 minutes walk out of town on the main street which suited us very well.

The Sawridge inn was welcoming (ok, so we had an aussie on the front desk) and the decor was quite reasonable. On first impressions walking through the front doors the hotel appears roomy and options exist for meals or a few drinks.

The suite we had was a fabulous size though the bathroom vanity could have been a bit bigger.

Breakfast was not over-priced compared to many hotels Ive stayed at and the choice wide enough to suit most people.

Outside, the squirells were quite good entertainment and if you drive a car there was plenty of parking.

Lastly, the hotel has a guest laundry which, to any of us travelling for an extended period, is most welcome and cost effective.

... hint at what we want for Christmas presents Mom!). So remember those bikes that were a hassle in? Turns out they were heaven coming out and as we griped the handles of our 24 speeds thoughts of AC/DC's, 'Highway to Hell' ran through out heads, twisting our wrists to rev the 'engine'. The last 7kms went by in a flash and soon we were standing beside out little red wagon high-fiving each other. I honestly don't even know how I did that! I think I ...

Go, Mikey! He was a trooper climbing up the mountains. It is always worth it when you get to the top.

There is more wildlife in Jasper than Banff - we saw three bears, a loon, caribou, and mountain goats. Mikey said it was the biggest rack he has ever seen ...

    All Aboard for the Rockies!

We awoke much too early to a glorious sunny day in Kamloops. It was a bit of a scramble to get ourselves up, ready and down to the coach for 7.25am but we made it just in time. As instructed we left our luggage in the room to be collected and follow on after. Such trust that we will find our bags waiting for us in the hotel when we reach Jasper!

Back on the train and on our way, we passed 2 bald eagles in a tree and an osprey nest on ...

... we did another loop hike.

On our final day, the plan was to ride the Jasper Skytram to the summit of Whistler's Mountain. Our tram trip was thwarted by rain and clouds. We may try before we leave tomorrow, if it's clear. I will give Jasper 3 flaming 7s and a Jackpot. I'm glad our journey brought us through this lovely spot.

On to the Bighorn Route (highway 40) tomorrow.

Signing off, Dave AKA The Elk ...
