We had a nice hearty breakfast, and then we were on the road by 8.30am, heading to the Icefields Parkway in Banff National Park.
The first part of travel was clear and the mountains looked grand on the Bow River side, we happened to get seats on the right side of the tour bus for good photo shots and many of them. We did see far in the …

Jasper is one of those places you visit when away on holidays and think yeah, this is pretty much like home and ai could live here. At the very least Jasper is certainly a place I would be happy to visit again.
Our main visit here was out to Spirit Island at Lake Malign which is an absolutely stunning place to go.

About 15-20 minutes walk out of town on the main street which suited us very well.
The Sawridge inn was welcoming (ok, so we had an aussie on the front desk) and the decor was quite reasonable. On first impressions walking through the front doors the hotel appears roomy and options exist for meals or a few drinks.
The suite we had was a fabulous size though the bathroom vanity could have been a bit bigger.
Breakfast was not over-priced compared to many hotels Ive stayed at and the choice wide enough to suit most people.
Outside, the squirells were quite good entertainment and if you drive a car there was plenty of parking.
Lastly, the hotel has a guest laundry which, to any of us travelling for an extended period, is most welcome and cost effective.
