... I spoke to someone at the station. I decided to rent a car. Nancy, a Honda N One, for 8300 yen. I bought some food and comtemplated sleeping in the car overnight if could find a place to shower and charge my electronics. I ended up checking in at Hotel Hokuou nearby. I walked into the back area thinking it was the office. I interupted a group of cranky older men who were smoking like chimneys while playing mah jong. The Last 2 Weeks!

... and randomly found an Oktoberfest, in May! Cake and drinks at a cafe then headed over to the Tokyo Tower for their One Piece (another anime we watch) attraction.

Very good mini theme park with games + walkthrough attractions. Plenty of photo ops with models of characters – something Naruto exhibit was missing. Usopp's Sogeking (using a slingshot to hit targets) game was the best thing – we were so close to winning!

Finally we headed off trying to find somewhere to have a late feed before a big sleep. Narita is a very sleepy little joint, when in comparison to Tokyo, or even Osaka, so it was hard to find exactly what we wanted. We thought we had found the perfect spot to grab some Okonomiyaki only to be told "we're closed!" by the old duck inside! We got some gyoza, rice and egg and karage from a chain style Izakaia and left it at that. Slept like babies.

... Since our first dinner had to be from 5:00-5:45. and in the crew mess... Usually by 10:00 we were starving! My favorite was always the homemade mashed potatoes with gravy...just like my grandmother used to make!!!! Comfort food when you're so far from home. And also homemade oatmeal and raison cookies. Just as a comment....I have always come home weighing less than when I arrived onboard! Too busy running around I guess to gain any weight! Also that night ...

... conditions, I was in Tokyo station. To take the Narita express, I had to reserve a seat. Great I would at least be able to sit down, and travel in some comfort. I have now checked, spent my last 1000 yen, now just waiting to board the plane. I was going to reflect on my trip, but I think I will do that after I get home. So Sayonara ...
