Holla, City of Squalla!

Ariving back in Bangkok from Koh Chang (or any island destination for that matter), is a surreal experience. A one hour ferry and 5 hour minibus ride gradually transforms the landscape from dense tropical jungle and turquoise seas, to dense concrete jungle and grey smokey skies. The calls of unknown birds, crickets and monkeys is replaced by the 24 …

So our last few days in Bangkok were fun. We went to MBK which is like the backpackers mall. It was so crazy to see – it has stores but it's mostly stuffed full of street vendors – and this is a huge mall. It’s not as big as the megamall we went to last time but it’s at least 7 stories and had a theatre in it. We went to see …

After what felt like a long travel day from Ko Tao which consisted of a high speed catamaran and a long bus ride we finally ended up in Bangkok with dry luggage. Not all our fellow travellers were so lucky. Some people's luggage was thrown (literally) outside to the front of the boat and every time we hit a wave the bags got quite wet. Even worse …

Mi smo-Zoran i Lidija.

We woke up in the morning feeling pretty good! Didn't feel jet lagged at all. We got up and ready pretty quick and had a quick breakfast at the restaurant in our hotel. We just got American style breakfasts which were scrambled eggs, toast and a piece of ham.

After breakfast we hit up Khao San Road. This road is basically a huge market …

Excellent location in the heart of Soi Rambuttri, close to, but nicely removed from, the excitement and chaos of Khao San. Open walled bathroom looked out onto the main street, but the glass doors and curtains separating it from the room kept out noise and light quite well. Only real complaint would be in regards to the lighting of the room, very dim, difficult to read at night unless all 3 lights were turned on!
