Excellent location in the heart of Soi Rambuttri, close to, but nicely removed from, the excitement and chaos of Khao San. Open walled bathroom looked out onto the main street, but the glass doors and curtains separating it from the room kept out noise and light quite well. Only real complaint would be in regards to the lighting of the room, very dim, difficult to read at night unless all 3 lights were turned on!

There were many little restaurants down our street which were always full and it seemed quite a hub for backpackers for some reason. We got there relatively early and fromt he airport to...

    The great escape

So faced with no ability to get to where I wanted to in India, I decided to get the hell out of India.

The trains continued to be canceled as the Maoists blew up some railway stations and attacked soldiers in various places, killing a few here and there.

Even if the trains started running right away, I was still stranded as th...
