Hostel is good for the location and the price. Air con is an absolute God send in the hot muggy weather. Can't complain really, except for the strong smell of sewer in the reception/restaurant area,

7am we get on a minibus, dreary eyed and very tired after countless nights of cockerels. Nam, the coordinator for Bangkok/Surin, drove us to Surin train station where we got on the 07:49 train to Bangkok Hua Lamphong. This train was (meant to be) 7 hours. The actual carriage was rather nice, leather seats and lots of air con meant that we were …

Starting the day with some breakfast provided by the hotel we were all gathered together for our orientation. Our leaders Joe and Nam told us about thailand, things to be aware of and what the whole programme would entail. This was swiftly followed by a tour of some of the key points in Thailand. We started our tour by getting in a boat taxi and …

After almost 24 hours of travelling from home to Heathrow to Doha and finally Bangkok, I got off the plane full of hope. I went through immigration no problem and after forgetting briefly what my new rucksack looked like, picked it up and headed out. The first thing I did was pick up a Thai SIM card so I can have internet on as much of the trip as …

After two planes and a long taxi journey we finally arrived on Khao San Road. It's just as I remembered which was comforting and horrible all at once. I'm really going to have to man up to this whole backpacker thing. A good night sleep & a fresh perspective will help I'm hoping.

Today was the first day spent as a whole group. After a pretty good nights sleep (my new ear plugs are AMAZING), I only woke up in the night because I was absolutely freezing from sleeping with the air con on, we have made a note of this for future nights - air con on low not high! We were up at about 8:00 for breakfast, we found out breakfast at …
