Pierwszy kontakt
Byliśmy trochę przerażeni wjeżdżając do Timisoary. Najpierw pożegnała nas obskurna wieś węgierska, po przekroczeniu mijaliśmy nie lepsze wsie rumuńskie. Do tego zniszczona wielka płyta na przedmieściach Timisoary. Po tych obrazkach nie bardzo wiedzieliśmy czego się spodziewać po pierwszym spacerze po Rumunii.
Bardzo miło zaskoczyła nas starówka miasta. ...
Hittin' the town with the G-Man
... We were full of course but we could not resist. IT was AMAZING. Like a warm chocolate souffle with nuts and fruits inside, topped with vanilla ice cream... it was amazing, really, to die for. So that was the food part. After that Andrada, the two G's, little and big, and the Squids walked around the city, going to show Giulia the old Cathedral and some of the sights before finally heading back to my grandma's house. We had an amazing time and can't wait to repeat it next year! ...
Birthday Proper
... as well as representatives of the Popescu side of the family (us three, Andrada's sister Loredana, her boyfriend Mircea and their mother, Luminita). We started with some cold cuts, some rosé wine and some soup (chicken noodle soup with meatballs!). For the main course, we had some baked trout with mamaliga. Yumms! I might have overdone it with an available garlic sauce that got mysteriously smothered over one of my trouts ...
