What a neat city! We didn't have a great first impression, since the taxi that took us from the train station to the hostel tried to charge us the equivalent of $120 for a 7 minute cab ride in the Romanian currency (we ended up paying 10 euros which was like 5x too much anyways but better than 100!) Fortunately, things only improved from there, and we had only positive experiences with cab ...

      Timisoara in the rain

A travel blog entry by kvstark on May 04, 2014

... confession (the lines were a bit long). There was a wonderful nun in the back who saw my pack and said "this is too heavy – here, put it under my table – I’ll be here for all of mass and I’ll watch it for you." Which was pretty awesome. So I didn’t have to worry about that. When I left too, she helped me put it on again, which was very nice of her.

I forgot to mention, it was pouring rain. Not coming down in sheets ...
