He was at first frustrated, then anything but sober, he had rung his crew at the pits and organised his team to come out with a van to pick up his bike, in the meantime he was in the pub being shouted pints from everyone in the bar of the railway hotel. ... after the boys flew past with a lap time of 24.34 mins and the clock watching began again until I saw a letter R put on the score board indicating that something had gone wrong and they had retired. Dags made a call to his friend Pauline who is from the Isle of Man and who he had met 3 years ago to tell us they were both OK. ... There is still loads of ice along the roads and many of the small streams are frozen solid.

After a quick look at the map I decide to head towards Port Erin via the scenic route and the small single track roads. This was where the Tenere really came into itself. Long straight sections of extremely rough road where one could see for miles. I opened the bike up and let it rip along these sections. ... wouldn't know the stock. Looked at an emerald and silver ring gilded with gold but was too small and couldn't be sized since that would ruin the gilding.
