          ... After about an hour or so the mist disappears and sunshine fills the sky......and the temperature quickly rises to a lovely 24c........!

          We arrive at our Albergo and find it is part of a brewery ..... So we test the ale! Dinner is served in the adjoining restaurant ..... Also part of the brewery.....could/ should b a good this ...

          Carbon copy repeat of a previous experience trying to sail into Portofino - rough seas meant it was too dangerous to tender ashore, so instead we docked in Genoa.

          Having explored the city on that last visit, we chose to still take a shore excursion to visit the picturesque towns of Sestri Levante & Rapallo

          ... coast, the other a lower flat shorter route. Guess what one we ended up on! Haha opps.  Everything worked out, we got lucky. On our way up the surprise mountain hill climb we pulled over to give the sweat dripping down our back a momentary break, I was blabbing to Kory about it being built up and I didn't think we were on the right road etc etc. An old couple passed us along side the road and head we were speaking ...

          ... the Mediterranean Sea 500 feet below. San Rocco looks like an idyllic town to live in: terraced gardens, stone paths leading to homes (no cars), and a view to die for. After passing through the little town, we came upon reminders of the Italian Riviera's role in World War II: "batterie" gun bunkers that pointed towards open water and France. There was a whole military base at that time that clung to the side of the cliffs!
