... crazy man and got off in Lerici. The bus trip wasn’t an enjoyable one. For me or many of the passengers, or the dog and cat that was also on board. ... of April 23, the bonfire is lit by everyone called Giorgio (tradition says....) and later people eat, drink till the “pennolla” fall to the ground (tradition holds that if it falls towards the sea, it signifies a good season ahead...mainly for money...hahahah!).San Giorgio’s Fire, is one of the biggest events on Portofino’s calendar and it includes giant barbecues grilling fish, a religious procession and fireworks... a Good beginning indeed!
