    ... very sorry for us but given the official police report stated we were guilty he could not do anything about it other than suggest we return to Oman and try and get another police report - I don't think so!!

    Subsequently we have heard that you can never "win" against a local. So this has left us with the impression that foreigners should be weary of driving in Oman and that you can not expect that same level of assistance ...

    ... down this single track road to show us where to go, it looked all locked up. The man then got out his car and got some other man from a house near by over. Turns out he was the keeper of the fort and unlocked the doors for us and let us roam around the place freely.
