    First day in Dubai

    Flight landed in Dubai around 11.45am, followed the masses to the boarding area for the train back to the main terminal for immigration and customs. Caught the train took about 3 minutes, walked through to main hall and were met briefly by the rep from Arabian Adventures, who advised us where to go after clearing immigration and customs. Queued up...felt like hours...the officials were slow. Went through both smoothly collected bags and found the Arabian Adventures office. ...

    ... in attendance. Caroline Allen, the Regional Director (EMEA) for ACTE, who was also responsible for this event, was kind enough to stop every now and then and clarify a lot of discussions happening all around us.

    ... towards the sea to find the heritage and diving village. Another "fake" village for tourists, to show the traditional fishermen houses and boats.

    And as sun was getting down, we went to take the underground back to our hotel area for dinner. Closer station was Al Ghubaiba, which resulted to be a nice park crowded with local people enjoying the green areas and the last sun light of the day.

    ... This was a must do experience. You drive out of glitz and glamour into miles of sand. The driver lets some air out the the land cruisers tires and you go for the ride of your life! Up and over and around sand dunes. Sometimes sand was spraying past the windows. It was funny to listen to Mya and Ashley in the backseat. "Well we haven't died yet!"
