We stayed the night in Adelaide at the Saville Park Suites. This was the first time that we have found a room complete with washer and dryer in the bathroom. After traveling for several days, it is nice to be able to do laundry. Early the next morning we head to the Coach Station to join the tour group for Woomera. We were all given purple armbands to wear and pink ribbons to tie on our luggage for ID purposes. Lunch was a short stop in Port Augusta after which we continued to Woomera arrivin...

Adelaide, South Australia, Australia luclegrandexplo... could check it in for $25. So with about 100 people behind me in line, I decided that if she wanted to play over less than a pound, I was totally game for that. I told her, "I'd like to see your contract of carriage to see what items are allowed beyond just a carryon in the cabin." So I slowly opened my bag and gave it a quick diet. Out came a "reasonable amount of reading material," "necessary medical items" (contact lense solution), and a long sleeve shirt ...

Adelaide, South Australia, Australia sarahsammy... And then at the conclusion of all this, I was invited to the visitors lounge, where I had some very insincere conversations about what I was doing and traveling around Australia, in which everyone told me it was marvelous and fascinating, and I got the distinct impression that the people there didn't actually give two hoots about me or my job, but heaven forbid that they didn't 'make the visitors welcome'. Give me the over 70s and their plain ...

Adelaide, South Australia, Australia ericamichelleb... as well as museums! I am officially the campest Englishman in Oz!! Help me!! I need beer and steak and Hooters!!! After lunch with the pansies, we went to the South Australia Museum. This was an OK museum but not as good as the ones in New Zealand. Adelaide, South Australia, Australia vickersontour... beautiful. Jon had a little trouble holding his excitement having wanting to visit Oz for a long while, however the lack of sleep, friendly locals, things we recognised and the promise of some home comforts once we met with our friends, soon saw us lazing in a park for the afternoon! We should point out that this section of the blog is written very retrospectively, we found ourselves slipping easily into a very lazy mode and then struggling ...
