... we had a friend there who we were going to see! Ate at a really nice Thai restaurant for lunch and then wet to watch 12 Years A Slave at an English cinema! Met up with Ross (Philipp) and had a really nice day with him! Just before we left for Graz, I had opened my window out onto the balcony, I turned around and a cat had appeared in my room! Naturally I was very excited about this and ended up sitting with it on my lap for about an hour!! So ...

... few games... not very easy without the bumpers but I managed to knock a few pins down!

Oberpullendorf is situated on top of a large hill and down the (very steep) road was Unterpullendorf! There were a few nice restaurants but even on a Saturday night it was like a ghost town! We ate at a very nice restaurant called Schmeydes which served a range of food from Pizza to Duck!

Our next stop is Hartberg which is rumoured to be a very nice hotel! Looking forward to ...

Austria - Burgenland - Arkadenhof Pension

We left the Hungary, crossed the boarder and appeared to Austria's easternmost and least populous land - Burgenland. We staied in farm Arkadenhof Pension - very beautiful country side place, clean and green, with many facilities, very nice owners Flasch family.
We came for 3 days so it were very busy and full of attractions stay. ...

... and in fact would only find them, when you knew they existed and even then you had to ask for them. Which is not an easy thing to do in Hungary.
But still, we found at least one beautiful example.

More to the north lots of nice, formerly very rich, small cities. Funny enough, the most wellknown of them, Sopron, is the most quiet as well. As our local host told us, the city is ...

... town square. Maybe the photos of the old Church and the statue in the middle of the town square bring back some memories for you. Anyway Nan, these pictures are for you – hopefully we went to the right place! It was certainly interesting for us to have a look around where you grew up, even if it has probably changed a lot since then!

From here we head to Graz and then on to Vienna. It has been very cold and we are hoping that it won’t snow too ...
