Last Day in Atlanta

... We watched the Dolphins and their trainers do all sorts of tricks. Unfortunately we couldn't take any photos their performances. Caught up with the gang after they had dinner. I didn't want to eat before big road trip. We went on the Ferris Wheel. The views of the city at night were fantastic. Photos didn't do it justice. We are leaving at 6am tomorrow to head for Orlando......8 hr drive. May stop off somewhere if we get tired! Off to ...

... Then we saw orangutan and gorillas, and these enclosures were enormous, incredible spaces with mixed groups enough to have babies in both... beautiful, and so cute! From the zoo we had a drink with Holly and then went out to dinner on the way to the airport.

At the airport, we made a promise to ourselves that this would be the last time we were going to be saying goodbye and staying apart like this, so here we are, waiting on Val's trip to the UK for Christmas.

That 7:45am alarm was an absolute nightmare! Luckily I'd packed pretty much everything so was able to shower and not have to rush too much. We checked out of the Hilton, agreeing that we'd definitely be back there next year, and hit the road back to Atlanta.

For Sian and Dave, this was to catch an internal flight to Sian's favourite place on earth, New Orleans. For me, the plan was to spend the day wandering around Atlanta... ...
