Hi there, It's been a few days since I last wrote my blog so quite a bit to write. After Bombay, Paul and I went to a lovely hill station called Pachmari to do some walking and chilling out in the countryside. We stayed in an old colonial house, there are many well preserved ones around, there is also an Anglican and Roman Catholic church. The first day in Pachmari we went on a long walk up to Chaurugarh an old pilgrim site for Hindus whereby once a year they carry tridents up the 1300 steps ...
Pachmari (Mahdya Pradesh), India vicky1974... really peaceful walking through the reserve to the river. We were wary at the river as there was a sign at the entrance to the reserve which announced that “Swimming in the water bodies and river pools is risky. There maybe crocodiles in the water bodies and you may become feed to them.” Not wishing to become feed to the crocodiles, we were very careful around the water’s edge and doubtless disturbed lots of sleeping cobras!
Orchha, Madhya Pradesh, India steve-n-miri... a country. It can't be completely communicated in one short visit. It is thrilling to see them discussing the structure, objectives, and strategy for the work, to see men enthusiastic about it, catching the vision to take it back too their assemblies, districts and states and get people digging into the Word! This is Jim's ministry.
The owner of the mobile modem we are using is leaving us this evening so we don't know when we will be able to get on line ...
... some taking paddle boat rides or buying popcorn to feed the geese or just going for a walk along the shoreline walkway. We took a walk down to a park that seemed to be lovers point. Jim and I were surprised by this because there is such limited contact between the sexes and no public displays of affection even the holding of hands. When we run across busy streets, I sometimes grab Jim's elbow, but otherwise we don't touch in public. (And if you know Jim ...
Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India ecsflemingsAfter 9 hours of travel (and this by 2 airplanes!) we arrived at the Catholic Centre being used for the all India ECS conference last night. We're thankful for a clean (even air-conditioned!) room even though there's no hot water. *sad face*
After a breakfast of curried eggs Jim and I went for a walk down the main street here, investigating and taking pictures. At one point we walked near a ...

Spent the last day or so in Agra, visiting the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort which were both amazing! The detail in these structures is just breath taking and everywhere seems to have such beautiful architecture!
I've now made it to see a Bollywood film in an Indian cinema...a very interesting experience where everything seemed to blow up, explode or include some unneccesary car chase!! Very funny though! The cinema experience included a torchwielding owner who clearly didn ...

My days were long, lazy and leisurely wandering to a fab 5 star resort for a coffee and a chat with a fellow Londoner. A prayer at the temples and a trip through the overpriced but fairly pleasant 17th century palace with 3 fun Holland holidayer's. We also had dinner together in an average restaurant with an over keen owner; handing you the 'recommendation ...

... quite different - some with tribal paintings and symbolic markings, nearly all made from mud, straw and cow dung. Once a year, tribes are brought in to repair them. Once again, it was only me wandering around the 3km site and then took a guess on how to get to the lake, where I treated myself in a posh hotel to an 'expensive' meal of fish and chips - indian style! Picking up my newest turquoise Salwar suit on the way back, I got off the bus at Hamidia Road and after making ...
Bhopal and Sanchi, India dynamite_dinah... dodgy stomach started - although probably like last year, I'm just needing a break from curry and spices! Arriving in the sprawling industrial city of Bhopal, sadly known for it's poisonous chemical disaster in 1986 which killed thousands and is still affecting the population (one of the girls on the bus had lost her mother to cancer and they though it was connected to the chemicals). My hotel round backing onto a main road of Bhopal near the Old City (not that you can really tell the ...
