Indonesia used to be a dutch and british colonie. You can see many of the old colonial buildings in and around Jakarta. The next part of the visit was a trip to the port itself. ... The following morning we woke up late, but gained an hour from the Philippines which was a bonus. We had a balcony in our apartment and from the 21st floor we had a great view of the city. We could hear the call to prayer coming from the mosques, a clear sign that we were back in a Muslim country. It reminded us of KL. It looked chaotic, smokey, busy and run down from above. ... would mind having our starters after our main courses?) Whilst in Asia Iv tried to adapt to this way of living also, which is fine when I'm in a restaurant waiting years for my food, or having my starter after my main, or even when my bus arrives an hour or two after its supposed to - but when it means Iv sat on a bus full of smelly people for 35 hours instead of 24 hours, then it starts to get to me a bit. We finally made it to Bali at 5pm on 10th August!
