... full of so much love. I think I'd done quite well at just getting on with our new life and adventure, of course I missed everyone but at that point all I wanted to do was to see my mum and tell her how much I loved and missed her!! I just about managed to hold it together (although writing this five weeks on, I got a bit tearful!).

It was good to be back on terra firma after our two day trip to the lake. It was no surprise however to feel my bed rocking gently as I tried to sleep on Saturday night!

... I found Barbara and Ian already there. They had stayed at Home and Life for a week before joining our teaching team back in December and so they had a great reception from all the children when they arrived back from school. We did “Sports” again and played the now familiar miming game. ... ate in the canteen with the other teachers amongst whom today there was a chatty lady who wanted to know all about us, or at least all about the men. Russell tried to explain to her about Malta and ended up showing her on the internet on his phone where Malta was. She didn’t seem much the wiser and returning to sit with the other teachers announced to them that his name was Malta. It’s not just the children that we have difficulty getting through to!
