Not only are the jail sentences much longer for crimes such as theft and rape but they also include public whippings. Nothing like the threat of physical pain to deter one's temptation towards the dark side.

Several days later Man came to camp crying laughing and said that a villager had been to his house asking if he had seen the puppy. When Man denied all knowledge the villager explained that 'white people had stolen his dog'. Brilliant, so much for helping the community.
