My friend took me to the Moerenuma Park (http://www.sapporo-park.or.jp/moere/en glish.php) where a famous Japanese-American architect/designer, Isamu Noguchi designed.
He's famous for those Akari series lights (you can see these at IKEA often).

... bridge was a plaque commemorating Sapporo's sister city in the u.s.-Portland, OR. Then, we (slowly) walked on about 4 feet of snow to get to the railing on the bridge for a clear view across the town. the neon lights were out and shining, the traffic was out and about, and all this was foreground to huge, forested mountain vistas. We're in Sapporo now and it's absolutely amazing. However the hostel is charging ten yen per freaking minute to use the internet - which adds up to roughly $10 AUD an hour. So there won't be any further posts until we reach Tokyo again in another three days.

... Park. In Sapporo, I paid a visit to not only the festival venue, but also Old Government Building, the Clock Tower and Sapporo Olympic Games venue. I also visited a glass-making factory in Otaru. I went there with my uncle and aunt and it was the first and last time to travel with them.
