We started the day leaving Sintra with two of the palaces I mentioned in the last post. The Sintra Palace was the most practical apparently but hard to chose whilst Mafra was a mix of braque and renaissance with various owners adding their mark. Day 12- Coimbra to Mealhada- 14.6 miles The HOT weather finally broke this morning and we walked in coolness until about 11:00 a.m. It felt so good after so many days of intense heat. Today the Camino was a combination of everything, a little back road walking, some paths, some dirt tracks, through another Eucalypus forest and some busy highway walking..not too much and also with wide shoulders.
