A night flight to Sanya. Couldn't call the hostel owner to give the
taxi driver directions! After considerable frustration our hostel
owner appeared beside us on the street!


Very nice room, modern with good bathroom. And just 100m to the
beach! All for $NZ22 per night. We were the first NZers to stay there. Joe's English was good and when asked he explained that he'd been to Vancouver for several months.

... squat loo, first of the holiday and no doubt not the last! You'd think that the many childhood summer holidays spent in Thailand would have taken away the fear but somehow soft London living, well.. We went off to the JianFeng Fu rain forest on the Tuesday and were highly disappointed when we found out it was inside a resort where we would be going (we were later happy when we found out there was less bugs where we were going) We found a beautiful waterfall and the scenery was amazing, we even went for a swim in a gorgeous turquoise lake.
