Mixed reviews on the SANTIKA. Though the rooms were more than satisfactory and the breakfast buffet offered a wonderful selection of western and Indonesian food (though the coffee and tea should be served hotter) the hotel's location was disappointing. A drive to the city center takes between 20 to 30 minutes due to the traffic. Rooms we're clean and modern. The hotel has a lovely pool and there is free wifi. Except for location the hotel was great.

... After a day of traveling sick a few hours in a bed was clutch. This morning we flew from Jakarta to tokyo and the ANA flight was great. We each had two seats. I slept for a lot of it and am feeling much better. We hopped the fast train to shibuya and are now in the crazy lit up part of tokyo. About to go have sushi and ramble around. Tomorrow it's back to the states. It's been an amazing journey. Time to go back to the real ...

After a seafood lunch we headed for a Buddhist Funeral. Some pictures below of this colourful event. We were just going to show up for thirty minutes, but there we were hours later, eating the whole time. As you will have noticed and know ...

I am also writing an article based on the concept of a 24 day advent calendar, detailing 24 different things to do with your kids, to celebrate Christmas or functions in the city. ... off his neck and when he frequently fell off he tried to run away, it was very distressing to see and we left immediately. On our walk back to the confusing entrance to the Trans Jakarta bus way we considered getting matching tattoos from the men with needles in the street, but refrained as we decided it would be impolite to get our behinds out in such a public setting! We arrived back at Nick's and grabbed our bags before Ally could be accosted ...

... sorts of scandalous clothing even I wouldn't wear and conservative clothing Muslims (I think) would wear with all sorts of sequences and designs! I couldn't tell if the look on their faces was out of admiration or disgust. Like a child who sees other people from foreign countries wearing strange clothing. I was reminded of when I was young seeing a Chinese boy wearing neon pink and yellow and the time I saw a boy, maybe from Africa, wearing all sorts of patterns on ...
