Mixed reviews on the SANTIKA. Though the rooms were more than satisfactory and the breakfast buffet offered a wonderful selection of western and Indonesian food (though the coffee and tea should be served hotter) the hotel's location was disappointing. A drive to the city center takes between 20 to 30 minutes due to the traffic. Rooms we're clean and modern. The hotel has a lovely pool and there is free wifi. Except for location the hotel was great.

... So, the order of the day was sun tanning (for her) and I tried to shade like rest of the asians around us. We bought some young coconut water, and sat there chatting. Her view of the muslim faith is pretty strong. Being a traveler she is pretty accepting of different faiths and different cultures, but as a feminist, she hates the way muslim women have to cover up. We have exchanged our thoughts on the subject many times, and although I also find it unacceptable, ...

... bob or dive under it being careful not to allow your board to whack anyone nearby. This is easier said than done at times and we both had some scary moments where we were 'tumble dried' and had our boards pull us all over the place. We did have massive eight foot learner boards so it was understandable that the waves chucked us about but learnt fast the best way to deal with the conditions and it felt good to know we were getting better.

Some filler here as this is not just a vacation blog, but a let’s miss winter in Halifax this year. At many of the construction sites, the workers sleep at the site as most are from another province or country. I think I will pass on the next interesting facts.

Sunday is all about chilling so me and Anna watched a chick flick in bed and took it easy. Were both feeling emotional because tomorrow is the day Anna goes home and we are separated until the end of September this is the last time on our trip where we will be falling asleep next to each other ...
