... time so the plan was just to sleep in the car park outside and check in first thing. The security guard did actually let us in just inside the site to another car park which was good if him as this meant we could sleep with the doors open without any worries which we have to do as it gets so hot in the van with them closed.. At this point, it was well after 5:00pm and we had a 6:00pm tasting scheduled with a family winemaker in Gratallops. The girls elected to not join us for this one, so we went back to the hotel, dropped them off, and then walked about three minutes to reach the winery, which was enclosed in the middle of the town, inside a 400-year-old family manor, purpose built over a wine cellar. ... have done fine with his human GPS skills to get us to Gatallops. It is a tiny village perched atop a hillside. The roads a very narrow, and the whole town has less than 250 inhabitants. He had warned me that the hotel was at the highest part of the village, and that I might have a hard time getting the van to the top of the final very steep hill, as it involved a very tight turn and narrow street. To add to the challenge, once I turned off the main road ...

If you have been following the blog for the last few weeks you will have spotted the regular pattern of time by the coast with interspersed with trips inland for climbing. We had visited this area back in 2006 and had really enjoyed it. It has some stunning cliffs and gorges high up in the hills at around 1000m above sea level. Although we are high in the hills the day time temperature are still up in the mid 30's so all our climbing is being done ...
