... promenade and it was 6.30 pm but still very hot. We weren't impressed with this town. Very commercialised with lots of ugly accommodation for the tourists and dirty streets in just behind the sea. We enjoyed our bike ride with the cooler ocean breeze and headed back to make dinner at around 8pm. Now I know why they have dinner so late. Its too hot to eat any sooner. Just one night here and tomorrow we are back in France and heading for ...

We'd been told there was to be a fireworks display at 10pm so we sat on the beach after watching everyone enjoy themselves at the local fiesta up the beach. To the old phrase " only mad dogs and Englishman go out in the midday sun", you may add KNBC cyclists. We headed off from Argele sur mer about 8 and headed down the coast. Spectacular scenery, but the idea that we were finished climbing quickly turned out to be a myth. Each village along the coast involves a descent with a subsequent climb on the other side. Just after we crossed the border we took the alternate route to avoid a tunnel which involved the ...

... to eat the hotel buffet for dinner I drew the line and headed off into the old town, where I ended up being somewhat disappointed. I took a photo of the cathedral just so I could say I was there, and ended up not having dinner at all until I got back to my hotel room where I enjoyed some cereal and milk (!), Along the way I passed some guys playing futbol in the park - and that was cooler than Old Girona for ...
