... arrived in Florence at 8:00pm. Fortunately we had transport to our accommodation courtesy of Paolo, which was great. 18 October - Cinque Terre This was an early pickup from our apartment by Ciao Tours at 6:30am to take us to Cinque Terre. There are 5 main towns here, of which we visited 4. These were Manarola, Riomaggiore, Monterosso Al Mare, Vernazza and Corniglia, which we did not go to. They are all on the coast and are very old villages. We were supposed ...

Nearly every place to eat is Italian & I still can't stomach pasta after the Florence incident (which is what I'm calling it now). It is where the famous film festival is that all the ...

... we signed up, dumped our gear, we were off to beach. WOW incredible, looked spectacular....shame it didn't have sand only pebbles. Divine nonetheless. All along the boardwalk the had chairs and benches. There were heaps of people strolling around, chilling out on benches ans seats, cycling or running. As we continued to stroll we came across a giant marquee and discovered a half marathon was being held on Sunday. Funny we were in Paris and there was ...

Time trials in Nice today & the scene outside our window was an evolving scene from early morning. Tents were set up. Tables for the corporate boxes set. People started looking for the best vantage point. Flags of all nations were either fixed to the barriers or wrapped around shoulders. We taped the "boxing kangaroo" to our balcony then decided it wasn't ...
