... Excaluburu.

Taxíkem jsme za chvilku U Excaliburu a máme domluvený, že Michal zkusí Black Jacka a já ruletu a případně i kostky. K automatu už nepudeme. Michal sedá za stůl, kde si měmí pěníze za žetony a sází minimální částku 15 $, ty v mžiku prohraje. To celé se opakuje a jdeme dál. Já zkouším ruletu, pořizuju žetony za 40 dolarů a sázím na černou - 2x vyhraju a 2x prohraju ...

... birthday surprise back at the suite, we both came down to find any open restaurant at 2 AM to at least grab something to eat. Luckily enough, we found Noodle House, just right timing to quench the appetite of the birthday girl.

After dinner (or early morning breakfast), we bought some gambling chips and squandered the little fortune left in our pocket at the casino tables and slot machines. At least I saved a dollar chip, but Cha just splurge ...

... Nevada. We stopped at the welcome center and picked up a bunch of brochures for hotels in Vegas. We narrowed it down to the Excalibur or the Imperial Palace and finally decided on the Excalibur. We got into Vegas and after driving around the hotel parking lot for about twenty minutes trying to figure out where to park and how to get into the hotel, we eventually had to carry all our luggage from the parking deck to the hotel, through the casino, down ...

... wind did not permit us to be out there too long (and an even better excuse for me to not go on the rides). The strip is obviously easily recognised with all its glory blaring up into the night but thing that really got me was looking at all the lights outside of the city that lit up the floor almost like stars, they just go on and on and on. There is also a picture inside as well of how Vegas was in the 50s. Which is just desert, so to see all this huge city panned out in front of you ...

... I've ever seen in my life. Les Mis, Vietnamese water puppets, and the egg cracking in Bangkok (whole other story) included. "O" is ridiculously cool and everyone should go see it. Eye level and 20 feet away helps too. And I know my mom loved it, which was the point of the whole weekend. She was thrilled every moment of the trip, and I was glad I was home for it. I miss my family always, but making it to special occasions makes it bearable. Happy Birthday Madre.

... had tried to go to the Planet Hollywood Spice Market Buffet (which is consistantly ranked as one of the best buffet values in Las Vegas), but we could never seem to get there when they weren't switching between breakfast and lunch. This year, we managed to time it just right, and we were pretty close to the front of the line when they re-opened the buffet at 11:00am. The buffet was really great. ... hanging from the ceiling. Didn't get a photo of that unfortunately . . . Luckily we landed a table outside (yes outside on the 62nd floor) where the view was awesome. The picture doesn't do it justice. So now for the food - ah yes good memories. We started out with a selection of homemade breads and rolls - ciabatta, baguettes, sun-dried tomato rolls, etc. and they were served with both butter and fresh peanut ...

... de M & M's met heel ver verschillende kleuren die he dus kon kopen. Uiteraard hebben we daar een leuke selectie van meegenomen. Daarna gingen we nog even naar New York, New York om de kroeg Coyote Ugly te bezoeken...dit bleek uiteindelijk niet mogelijk omdat we onze paspoort waren vergeten (men had blijkbaar de afspraak dat IEDEREEN die naar binnen wilde een ID bewijs bijzich moet heben). ... seem to be very popular with the drinking class. We are very impressed when the bartender actually pours tequila into the cup before filling it with the Margarita slushy mix. We play blackjack on the Fremont Casino video poker machines which is a bit different from other casino's video poker machines. The game is fun and easy to play and you can bet as little as a penny.
