... we stayed a night at the wonderfully idiosyncratic Hotel Aiguaclara, which was rated 2nd in all of Spain by Trip Advisor’s 2011 ‘Europeans’ Favourites’. We had a great time exploring the town and chatting with the fabulous owner/managers, Clara and Joan (who provided us with his awesome Spanish omelette recipe).

... city wall, which gives wonderful 360 degree views of the city, a couple of church/cathedrals and some pretty good places to eat as well. It's a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of the big city. One thing I like about cities with beautiful old buildings such as Girona is that they spotlight the buildings when it gets dark, making the town very scenic to walk through at night.

When we got it we were off......Tony and I and Alex, and wouldn’t you know it the van was rainbow coloured, poor Tony, that’s the only thing he said he didn’t want. So he drove off in the amazing techno-coloured camper van. Girona here we come.
