Today was another beautiful, hot day in Venice! We slept in and went to the Doge's Palace. It was so interesting and, of course, gorgeous! Afterwards we perused some stores and walked around the local streets before taking a little siesta out of the heat. Later on we took a gondola ride which was so awesome. Venice is a dream and I can see why Abbot Kinney tried to create an equivalent in Los Angeles back in 1905. Sadly most of the LA 'Venice Canals' were filled in and just a small handful remain, but the people who mocked his vision back then had clearly never seen the real deal.

I believe that most (if not all) of the buildings have a 'street' entrance, which is a shame. I saw one ...
