... travel with a dog like Norman who will do whatever she wants. The ferry us trip from the airport took about 90 minutes but it was a good introduction to the many islands of Venice. It dropped us right at Saint Mark's square. We found our way across the square and the thousands of visitors to our hotel which was only one street back from the square. Another prime location. As long as I have my headphones on, I am able to create a bubble to navigate in. And I even purchased a fillet (not experienced enough to get a whole fish yet) of something like cod. Over the bustling Rialto, a journal/cappuccino break and then vegetables at the produce store, and yogurt at the discount grocery. And ...

... soldiering on and eventually found some Ferrovia (train station) signs which brought us back to the Grand Canal, from where we found our way. By now our room was ready, we checked in and had a good nap. We ventured out late afternoon again and took he Vaporetto (public transport boat) to San Marco, past the cruise ships. Our ship is not in the harbour as yet, so will likely come in early tomorrow morning. We saw the MSC Fantasia depart, and ...
