... from their hiding places around the house (and at Steve’s office), ring the insurance company and ‘fess up to the accident. In reality they were completely calm about it, no doubt confirming their prejudiced views of the witless state of most pommies…
The drive, once begun, was largely uneventful We expertly negotiated the way through twisty roads up into the mountains admiring the wide vistas over deep valleys all around. After a while we ...
... 4hrs on this mobile cigar tube we finally arrived at Darwin airport and some one forgot to tell them that a plane load of over dressed southerners were arriving man talk about heat even walking from the plane thru to the terminal you could feel the heat penetrating the glass.
We get our luggage and head to the transfer desk to be taken to the Hotel once again we are packed in like sardines and away we go we had a bit of a city tour as the bus dropped off ...
... so bad that AR had to be relocated due to some friendly power boat person dropping his anchor not more the a few feet in front, just off AR's bow..................not leaving us any swinging room................and it would be us that would hit them and them would be most upset..........................so we moved. MrJ and I rolled the covers partially back, hauled in our anchor, motored out to the back of the pack and dropped anchor once more....................out with ...
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia nancyjean... a tough descision but I eventually decided on eating a Red Thai Chicken Curry. My food was the last to come out but it was definatley worth the wait. It was absoultly delecious! When everyone had finished eating, Celeste, Nikita, Bronte, Noah, Kodi and Shawna headed off to Infinity again. Sean and Gabriella headed home so mum and I took Linda to Blockout. While we were there I ended up trying on some more clothes, but didn't end up buying any. Dad met up with ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia bethfisher... owned the land, their goddess had half a shrimp body and half a human body. (or something like that) This town is strictly against tourists, but as more started showing up there was nothing to do but accept them. The city law does not allow high building (cannot remember actual height, but cottage size) and also does not allow large commercial fast food restaurants like McDonalds, Denny's, Dairy Queen etc. The few main streets are covered in small business ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia karinakr... of the world! With the sun setting, we headed in to the O'Reilly's Resort which was now exuding warmth and seemed very much to be a retirement village filled to the brim with tourists from all over. We sat down to warm ourselves at the libraries fireplace and heard from a nearby piano bar, the sounds of 'Star Spangle Banner' which seemed a tad out of place here in the wilderness of Australia. Our dinner at the resort was wonderfully ...

Brisbane, Australia katandhal... couple more years to now (well, actually to late last year when I was in the Blue Mountains). I'm checking my email to discover a message from Amy telling me that she's heard over the grapevine that I'm in OZ. Well, she too is in OZ, Melbourne specifically. So two or three years and thousands of miles later, Melb will be the site for a little Ryerson reunion. I love that story. One more week to go, I hope my anticipation doesn't cause this week to drag on too much.
Brisbane, Australia chattermouth... Like I said, details were hazy at best. The next day Jon looked like an embattled brawler (I suggested that when people eventually asked him what happened to his face to simply reply with "you should see the other guy"), his right eye was purple and swollen nearly shut. Thankfully, he didn't remember much, I was of no help either. Dahu strikes again. As I boarded the bus, gravely hungover and already missing my friends, the sun finally broke loose, bathing the coast in a golden hue.
