... enjoyed baseball in many venues: The Toledo MudHens playing at Fifth Third Field; The Detroit Tigers at ComericA Park; and the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field; and base ball (yes, two words is correct) in its vintage form when we spent a lovely afternoon watching the Spiegel Grove Squires play in Spiegel Grove, behind Rutherford B. Port Clinton, Ohio, United States pykesonthegoCedar Point Amusement Park is located on the beautiful shores of Lake Erie in Sandusky, Ohio. It is the land of fun and thrills with over 75 rides and attractions. Cedar Point offers the best in roller coaster thrills.

There's lots for kids also. In fact, a section of the park called "four kids' areas" offers 30 rides and attractions for "just their size". These shots were taken especially for our nieces and nephews.
Port Clinton, Ohio, United States socksOn September 10, 1813, Commodore Oliver Hazaard Perry defeated and captured a British squandron of warships at the Battle of Lake Erie. The battle, fought during the War of 1812, secured control of Lake Erie for the United States and enabled General William Harrison to conduct a successful invasion of Western Upper Canada.

The memorial commemorates Perry's defeat but more importantly it celebrates the lasting peace between the United States and Canada.
Port Clinton, Ohio, United States socks... there. It was worth it. We stopped by the Cleveland Brown stadium next door to their gift shop but it was closed - it was 5pm - cool looking stadium. We decided to put Steak n Shake into our GPS and sure enough there was one near by and we were off for our 2nd visit - once again yummy! We headed back to Jett and the camper - he was great and excited to see us! We just hung out - played on Facebook and called it a night!
Sandusky, Ohio, United States dornan... since breakfast, we were starving however neither of us were up to going to a restaurant. Instead, we settled on tailgating behind a Home Depot with a take- out pizza and a glass of wine. Pretty Delicious!

Cons: Fuel mileage was a dismal 10 MPG with a consistent head wind.

Overall: Great travel day.
Bellevue, Ohio, United States weilnauJust wanted to upload some more pictures of our life and times around Cedarlane RV Park. We're both working LOTS of hours (~40/week apiece), which is more than we had expected...but it will certainly help the finances, which is why we're doing what we're doing!

Port Clinton, Ohio, United States pykesonthego... that the tourist season hasn't yet begun, we weren't able to take an official tour (not sure that climbing that many steps would be a good thing, anyhow!), but we enjoyed the outside of the lighthouse and the pretty park surrounding it. Of course - I took lots of pictures

Marblehead, Ohio, United States pykesonthego... leafless, erect stalk
topped with a solitary flower. All individuals within a given population tend to bloom about the
same time, producing the spectacular effect of a golden blanket
across the rocky landscape. All the flower heads track the sun across
the sky in unison. After about a week, the double notched petals fade
before falling.
We were lucky enough (totally by accident!) to be there during their single blooming week!
Port Clinton, Ohio, United States pykesonthegoOne day some friends, my cousin, and I ventured off to the land far far away called "Ohio". When I talk about my travels here people ask "what is in Ohio"? My answer: Cedar Point. Some of the biggest and fastest rollercoasters are in this amusement park. Thus, it is my suggestion that if you travel here then this is your hot spot. 3 ...
Sandusky, Ohio, United States travel_bug_77... dinosaur bones. They're not real dinosaur bones. I know because I just put them in there today and they say 'Made in China' on them. What kind of ******* thinks real dinosaur bones say Made in China?" He looked around in an overly dramatic and sly fashion, and then pulled a rumpled soft pack of Camels from the back pocket of his khaki jeans. He lit one with a cheap plastic Bic lighter, then took a long drag and exhaled slowly, eyes closed, head turned toward the treetops.
