    ... of the houses are spectacular. After 2 hours or so we arrived in La Jolla and checked in to La Jolla Cove Suites, a sort of apartment hotel in a perfect location above La Jolla cove.     Our plan was to have a beach day at the state park just outside San Diego, and camp the night there before, hitting the city early the next day.
