... old sale shacks; tiny churches; Smoky the Bear signs; popping ears; curvy and steep slope warnings; kettle pots in front yards; broken down barns; bales of hay; fields of broken down car pieces--baby junkyards; mansion in the middle of nowhere; massive open fields of cows; the smallest hospital I've ever seen; a Wal-mart in the middle of nowhere...and next to a big red barn (Only seen that in Lancaster, Pennsylvania before); "Big Trucks Only" parking spaces, the smell of country and ...
Hot Springs, Arkansas, United States ktowers86Visiting hot springs might be one of Bek's favourite things to do in the whole world, so when a town is named Hot Springs, it sparks our interest. We did an overnighter and drove from Wichita, Kansas to Hot Springs, Arkansas (State # 22, slowly getting there).
Hot Springs is a town surrounded by state parks that is built around (you guessed it) Hot Springs. This area has 46 natural hot springs and a row of bath houses ...

Today we got up early again, perhaps around 7 am EST 6 am CST. While out roaming the parking lot here at the hotel I found a geocache just by speculation and was correct. I then got on the website and found a total of 4 caches here in the local area. We then went and explored the Hot Springs National Park starting at Bathhouse Row, then heading to the visitors center and explored that bathhouse, as they had it ...
Day 3 Memphis, TN to Hot Springs, AR
Today turned out to be a really good day. I can't really say what gave it away that it would be a good day but it was as I was starting to feel by about 7:30 this morning. I just had a feeling. We were up way too early in the morning and I got a running start. We headed down to the ticket center at Graceland and they started selling tickets at 8:30. We were on the 9am bus to Graceland where we were given our headset to ...

Arkansas is all about Water, Rocks and Mountains!! There is water everywhere!! -- including in the air! It started raining at Heifer and it hasn't stopped. It sprinkles and mists then does a down pour and then back to misting. Not the greatest for sightseeing or doing our usual kayaking and hiking and biking. But....this part of Arkansas is all about HOT water! Bubbling out of the ...
Luke and Jenna had decided to take a very scenic route back to Searcy and go along the sort of back roads highways, visiting small Arkansas towns or towns with cool downtown districts along the way, and one of those was Hot Springs, where my family happened to be due to the long Labor Day weekend. I decided to surprise them by just walking into the lake house completely ...
Hot Springs, Arkansas, United States jwatsonWe got into Hot Springs, Arkansas around noon yesterday. From the plane all you see are hills and green. Being from Miami.. that's a lot of green.
My two great aunts, Mary and Ramonita, were already waiting for us when we landed in the private airport. On the way to Mary's house all you see are tree's and randomly placed houses. We drove through "downtown" and Ramonita started complaining about the ridiculous traffic.. which was like ten cars on the road. I couldn't help but laugh ...
... is likely the worst yet. There are no fire pits, no showers, and there are giant streetlights that stay on throughout the night. Additionally, the campground is undergoing a significant amount of construction so a large portion of the campsites are closed. Therefore, we're only a few feet away on either side from our neighbors despite there only being about 10 people camping ...
Hot Springs, Arkansas, United States troycar4444... waterfalls and a nice squirrel lounging on the walkway who allowed me within 6 feet to get some cool pictures. Leaving Garvan, we headed to Gulpha Gorge campground which was beautiful. We camped next to a creekbed and listened to the water running and crickets chirping as we fell asleep. We had a few problems in the process of making dinner. I got burned a few times by the cook stove and ended up with close-to-boiling water spilled in my lap ...
Hot Springs, Arkansas, United States kristensp489... that went hiking. I wound up exploring a trail by myself, which was nice. There was a sense of peace just being alone in the woods. Afterwards, we went shopping but didn't buy much besides some cool postcards. Overall, this wasn't the exciting trip that I hoped it would be. I guess with every awesome vacation, there's gotta be one or two busts.
