    ... trail called the "Corniche", which was car free for 10 miles or so. The landscaping perfect, the amenities exquisite, but the overall lack of soul kept me wishing for the dirtier and more interesting old part of Dubai.     ... sound. DUBAI Awaiting them at the airport was their transfer to take them to their Dubai hotel, Atlantis. It was a Cadillac Escalade, beautiful large car that was funnily enough, similar colour to the Ferrari FF, the debate once again began.     ... and sober so can't blame the drink. Looking forward to tomorrow when the holiday properly begins.     ... BBQ with us which we ate Arab style on her lounge room rug. There was pita bread, meat, chicken, hummus, baba ganoush and more. It was so tasty! Zoe also shared with us the photos from her wedding, we stayed up chatting for a while before heading to bed.

    We had such a lovely time in Abu Dhabi and hope that we will one day have an opportunity to have Zoe, Moe and little Alia come and stay with us so that we can repay their kindness and hospitality ...

    ... were the same. The state room (cabin by any other name) was spotless. The only blip at this stage was that the safe didn’t work. Once I programmed the code into the safe, the pair of 1 inch bolts never shot in to place, thus rendering the safe useless. The fact is, we had an unsafe safe!

    Our cabin steward, Reg, appeared and introduced himself and asked if everything is OK.
