Archaeological Significance
Not much excavation has been performed at Kition. The foundation of the temple of Astarte is uncovered with a few capitals and pieces of the walls, and there is courtyard with sanctuary and place of sacrifice adjacent to the temple (12th century B.C.). ... on one level upstairs, beautiful decor, a cute wee balcony with floor to ceiling windows/doors and a fantastic view of a small square with a beautiful church in it. The Lazarus square. Very old! After settling in at the hotel we found a place for dinner and then walked along the waterfront to check out what was on offer. Wish we had more time to have a proper look around. I am sure we will get back there at some point ...
