Mum Drove us to Launceston. It was an easy drive as we shot from the NW to the N, although she never quite made it. Mum gave up 35km before Launceston and Davo had to get us into the centre! They both walked around a market while I sorted some internetting and accomodation bookjing out and bought some nice food to cook a meal this evening. Launceston is lovely and it was a lovely unny day, the people in Tas are so friendly - it really is a great place.

Our next stop in Tasmania was Launceston. On the drive there, we stopped off in Sheffield, the town of murals, so-called, funnily enough, because the locals had taken to painting huge pictures and landscapes on the walls of buildings in order to make the place more appealing to tourists. Although the option to take a ferry to Tasmania exists, I chose to fly. Same price, two hour flight. The ferry takes all night and because it is dark, the scenery is limited. I arrived to a lovely home. A couple I had met weeks ago on Fraser Island invited me to stay with them if I visited Tas. I'm so lucky to have met them and spent two nights in their home in Hobart. Peter teaches at the local college and is acting vice-principal this year ...

... to my hostel I got talking to a guy from Wagga Wagga (Just North of Melbourne), I had cooked too much stir fry so shared that with him and also some wine - we sat in the garden all night putting the world to rights. It was great to have a conversation that had meaning for a change rather than just idle chit chat.
