... The staff at the center called Robert’s Roost to make sure they had space for us, and also called several places to find a pet sitter for Nitchie. They don’t allow pets in the town of Barkerville. Now isn’t that strange, considering the name? Maddy’s Pet Service came to our rescue and this morning we dropped Nitchie off in a lovely rural area about 12 miles from our turnoff to Barkersville. The owner, Chris, made instant friends ...
Quesnel, British Columbia, Canada dlpoolWe have completed our trip down the inside passage. Great scenery, boring ride.
I have some left over pictures from Wrangell NP to start off the pictures. Notice how small the towns are. Haines has a summer population of about 2500. Valdez about 1200.
... we decided to grab a quick bite at the adjoining pub. After dinner we went for a little walk to check on the truck and to stretch our legs. As we strolled past the pool we decided to go for a quick swim. Steph being the well organized girl that she is, quickly donned her swimsuit and Jason not knowing where his swimsiut was, employed his running shorts to do the job and both enjoyed a relaxing swim in the cool water.
... riding south on Highway 97 and the plan was to camp, but as I approached Williams Lake, British Columbia, a wild storm came up, almost like a tornado. Stuff blowing everywhere, and rain. So I jumped at what appeared to be the cheapest looking motel, The Stampede Motel, and am sitting in the doorway as the internet signal is the best with the door open. Distance Travelled; 603 Km
Williams Lake, British Columbia, Canada jstephensca... to be almost as good as the previous one. It was clean and well kept, and almost like walking into a little community-people obviously go there year after year, they all seemed to know what we were doing before we even told them. Sheridan Lake was great to explore, it had lots of bays and islands, and the water was so clear that you could see the bottom almost anywhere in the lake. It's obviously a popular fishing lake, the ...
Williams Lake, British Columbia, Canada lakeshorecrew... goat, but no grizzlies to pet or moose to chase, although you don't really want either one in your lap when you are on a motorcycle. They are a bit on the heavy side ... About an hour into the ride, we stopped for a tour of the Athabasca Glacier, which is fed from the giant Columbia Icefield. The glacier is basically created where the icefield spills over into the valley. The same icefield feeds 6 other glaciers in the ...
