Parc Omega

We have begun our journey home, this is the only 'labour' part of Labour Day. The Québec farmlands and hills are just wonderful to drive through. This 'belle province' is really growing on us as a tour destination. I love speaking french, I love the small differences that I notices between our two ...

The Petit Poisson Blanc

Oh the road up north was long, though enjoyable. We've been listening to Journey and french radio all the way! We crossed the Ontario-Québec border by ferry - il cout tres cher - $8.00 for a fast water ride. We got to speak some french at campgrounds and when making arrangements for our motel that night. The stars were amazing! The Milky Way was outstanding against ...

1 week left!

... a few set dates to steer the trip around. I will also book the Ferry across and back from Nova Scotia to Newfoundland. I applied for a special Mastercard just exactly for that purpose; gas, emergencies and being able to book a few things in advance. I'm still excited to leave, but my heart is sad. I thought this would be the last summer I'd have with all my kids together before Nicholas turned into a man-like creature. Looks like I missed the boat :(

Parc Omega

On our way to Ottawa, we visited Parc Omega. It's a wildlife park with 10km of road through parkland/forest where loads of animals live. As you drive through you can open car windows (or bus doors) and feed the animals - well the deer at least. Best not to try and feed the wolves, coyotes ... or bears! We did see ...

Madawaska to Toronto

Today I got up and had some pancakes for breakfast and hit the road at about 10.30am heading for Toronto. Our first stop for today was at Ragged Falls, another set of falls that looked quite good. It was a short hike to the falls so it was good to get the blood flowing and get eaten alive by bugs. I took a few photos and then continued on to our next stop which was a fire tower in Dorset. We all climbed up the fire tower and had a look over the forest. I took a ...

... in between a few of the rapids. Delicious food! Mmmmm! Once the day was over we all watched a video of the day and saw the photos. A few of us ordered one between us and i'm going to make copies for people when I get back. We all had a beer to officially end the day and headed back to the hostel where we had some dinner and hit the road to get to Madawaska. During the day and dusk in ...

Mont Tremblant to Ottawa

I got up early this morning and tried to organise my ticket to the Yankees vs Red Sox game in NY on June 8. The website was giving me grief so it wasn't the best start to the day. After a good 30 mins, I gave up and moved onto something I could do ... eat breakfast. After breakfast I got all my stuff together for another day on the road. Today we were heading to the capital of Canada, Ottawa. We stopped off at a park that is ...
