It was raining in Fort Nelson when with left this morning, but before we left, Les noticed that 2 of our tires where looking pretty bad from bouncing so much and driving over rocks. ... first time in awhile that we've hit a name brand restaurant, especialy for lunch. It was in Fort St John, we had lunch buffet for $12.99, so tasty! I forgot how much I loved ribs.

Finally made it to Grande Prairie Alberta, so far all I've seen in Northern AB is hay fields and Canola fields. We lost an hour as we're in Mountain Time Zone now, but we'll get that hour ...

We finally made it back to Grande Prairie and are taking a break from the blog until we continue our journey to Europe... we leave on July 23 and arrive in Paris on July 24th!!!! We likely won't be able to write as regular as we were on our U.S ...

We ended our year long journey where we started - at the Cassity Farm in northern Alberta. We took our last night bus of the trip from Calgary to Grande Prairie, and I must say, I really liked the good old Greyhound.

... to be precise, at the edge of a city with the most gigantic sawmills and piles of logs and lumber that we had ever seen. We got out of it as quickly as possible and landed at Saskatoon Island Provincial Park in the midst of a rainstorm. But it soon cleared, and when we walked to the lake we saw a bit of a sunset. Happy Fourth of July to all of you! We have already celebrated with Canada Day (see July 1).

Jerrod ripped it up like a pro and Kyle decided he need to jump 25 feet off a cliff onto flat ground...sorry theres no pics. On the 26th I had a sad goodbye with the beautiful Celina. Hardest thing I've ever done. ...but my good mule Kyle and I were off to discover a continent...

... and although I had fewer than a couple weekends back, I have a much larger headache this morning. I got a package yesterday from mom- volleyball kneepads, new pj pants, receipes, pictures, toys for the kids, candles for Jo and other little things, plus... a can of peppers! I have looked all over GP in order to make Marcella's famous dish, to no avail, so mom sent me some. Yeah! Real food! It would have been so much nicer ...

... I was a little insulted to be considered a freeloader, we had been very thankful. By the time we got home, Yulia was tired, but Jo, Dean and I played a game called Oilmen-- very Albertan. It was a great game, it involved buying land and drilling to different depths to increase one's salary when oil was struck without spending all your money on the land in the first place. We played well into the night, and Dean only won by a couple thousand dollars."
