... way down to warm up while eating an Nussgipfel ( famous swiss Nut-sticks) Everywhere you go even on the Base-camp where the Lift brings you up to the Säntis you see Constructions going , they are really cementing and filling Switzerland with concrete this day's greatly diminishing the upon a time quality of Live with it.... it is getting too crowded at least for me ...

Stopped to hike down the gorge at Viamala which has been carved out by the Rhein River. The next stop was Ruinaulta, where the Rhein flows below white carved cliffs. Our destination for the next two nights is another refugio, Alpenrosli, at St. Antonien. Christoph met up with us and his sister and family came the next day.

This tiny country is most famous for selling postage stamps, and the fact that almost every European tour operator includes a few minutes here so they can boast of another country visited. ... with their bells clanging as they grazed, there were apfel (apple) and pears trees and vineyards covered with plump and juicy deep plum coloured berries. Driving through the very narrow streets of Maienfeld town, high up in the coach, allowed us to see over high walls and be amazed at the dreamy and spectacular views.
