Reminds me a lot of Southampton.. with a Pier! lol

... and lots of families.

I did some shopping, always a good pick me up!! And took a long walk along the boardwalk.. all the beaches are quite nice around this area, they actually have sand BUT the water is freezing and no waves!!

The pier was interesting.. its quite an old structure and the pictures from the last century were amazing, everyone walking along in their suits and long ...

A cute stopover

... a lot to see when your on them.

So we decided on a next stop as Lyme Regis on the South Coast to break up our journey back to London. It's a nice place at the start of the Jurassic Coast which we did not have time to explore. Kim impressively went for a morning run even though it was rainy and windy and I stayed tucked up in bed!

Weekend in Caravan...

... we went into the club. Where they were just finishing off the kids club show. We had a three piece singing group and then two comedians. I think the entertainment startedabout 9 and went through till about 1. In the club they had a kids amusement centre, with pool tables, dance machines and arcade games.. we went through a lot of 2p coins than night!! I was really surprised at the amount of entertainment there. A lot of fun for a big kid like me!!

Leaving Art & Thurza

... I went to the Haynes Motor Museum at Sparkford, great few hours including a smashing lunch and back to Yeovil to pick up the ladies at the appointed time of 3.30 pm.

Tuesday dawned rather foggy and overcast, probably our worst day yet. Lona wanted to go to Lyme Regis to find a model dog for Kim. One time we were here before we bought her a Boxer, so this time Lona wanted Schnauzer, to no avail, there were none ...

FIRST MAJOR CAMP AFTER NO FIXED ABODE

... of these days I am sure we will plan something and get it right. We were three parts there and saw an MOD sign saying village closed!!! We thought we would cycle on anyway and see if we could sneak in! Alas a few miles ahead of us we ran into the beast!!! A 20% hill!!!! Half way up my heart was threatening to bounce right out of my chest and my lungs were about to explode when Dee said to me "Do we really want to cycle up here if the ...

Final Call....

... day ahead. I've been watching the price of fuel at Tesco's. Diesel is 118.9p a litre and I have a 5p /litre off voucher. When you have a 55 gallon tank, these vouchers and even a penny drop in the price is crucial. 1p off equates to about £3 off a tank. It's still going to cost best part of £300 to fill, including the jerry cans. I've got to admit, I'm feeling apprehensive. So much that could potentially go wrong. I guess the point is that I've ...

Jolly Hockey Sticks

... bulky. I spoke to the superintendent in the police bar at a function last night about my storage issue and how much stuff I was getting in. We got on to the rugby issue in Ethiopia and I suddenly found that I had another potential rugby coach interested in a weeks visit to Ethiopia and a training session or two out there. I can see this becoming a side issue of the trip, getting a number of rugby coaches out to Addis, taking ...

... nearly 40 years!

We decide that rather than take our car again, we would go by rail. This would then compell us to continue by rail and other public transport methods. We chose to go on a Great Rail Journey with the company of the same name. Taking the Glacier Exprees package choice we set off for Waterloo Station in London, from our local station at Yeovil Junction early on a late June morning.

This is the story of that trip, its sights and its 'wonders' !!!
Off to Switzerland

... grapefruit priced at a Co-op shop in Basel, en
route, scared us into living very frugally whilst in that country! So
we missed out on the wonderful transport opportunities of rail,
cablecars and lake ferries!

Since that visit we have always dreamed that we would one day return, hopefully more able to avail ourselves of the different forms of transport. During those years a chap ...
