... for two nights and we have another hostel booked in Mancora, Peru for about a week later. And of course, our Machu Picchu Inca Trail is booked for March 15th which should be the perfect exclamation point on the trip. So that being said and some last minute purchases of toiletries (jackets and shoes) in Steves case, we are ready to go. Off to Florida!

... and money to get my little tunes down, with a lot of help from the musical community I found in Toronto, and before that, in Montreal and Kingston. Claude Kent, my own personal superhero, has been with me on the whole journey, from the day we hooked up in the short-lived but influential (at least to us) TEN TO MIDNIGHT, a sort of showband-cum-soul revue featuring a remade local former rockabilly crooner, a slick keyboard player with foxy black female singer in tow, and a young bass ...

... mad moments, all in the spirit of getting into the Candian mindset. I held no prejudices when I came here. The Canadians are a heterogeneous population: some have a ribald wit that could force a Biritsh man off his barstool, and many are passionately patriotic (whatever that means for a former colonial population) and don't mind telling you so. The ride has been hectic - travelling from Boston on a very humorous Greyhound bus trip, we stood ...

Making it real in my mind

... a couple of weeks, I think, partly due to excitement about this trip, and partly due to my ex and I, who have suddenly again become collaborators, doing character dialogues by instant message into the very wee hours. What I'm hoping is that the need for sleep will knock me out on the plane. But considering I haven't been on a transatlantic flight for 36 years -- seriously, last time I was eleven -- I might just be too excited. In a way, this is ...

We have enjoyed Toronto also though with nights out in the nearby Bloor St in the Annex area, the Green Room, Labyrnth and a few others. We even got asked to show our i.d there, they said they were asking eveyone who looked under 25! YES Iève still got it. Linds said I now look less grey as my hair is ...

Oh here is my tea and the movie is about to start...later... Later: Well, the Longest Yard wasn't able to hold me for even 15 minutes. I drifted into a half sleep state for the next couple hours. It's when you are more or less aware of what is going on around but ...

Leaving Today

So, it's finally here. I'm actually leaving today. Still hasn't sunk in yet. Feels really weird though....I'm so organized here, but it still feels like the trip is disorganized. At least I've got until May 19th fully planned out...better than nothing. Then from then on Elaine, Nayha and I will somewhat figure out what to do. Gonna head off and do some last minute stressing and buying of random things (such as the lip gloss that I really like but lost this weekend...). Ciao
