... Hakone is very much a tourist town, and is known for its food, onsen spas and close proximity to Mt Fuji. A short train trip takes you to a cable car which had 360 degree views of the mountain ranges that included Mt Fuji. As the cable car came over a mountain peak and Mt Fuji came into view, oooohs and aaahhhs from the passengers were loudly heard. It is quite a beautiful scene. Luckily the sky was ...

Here the hot springs, erupting geysers and bubbling pools of boiling mud dominate a fascinating landscape. We take the Hakone rope way from Sounzan down to Togendai on lake Ashinoko. We take a boat journey around the lake which is a water filled volcanic crater with a circumference of 18K. We are now making our way to Tokyo by ...

The plan was to drive to the 5th station, however the weather prevented this with the road up closed due to snow. We were only able to get as far as the 1st station where we could see pretty ...

... get views and photos of Fuji would be from the other side of one of the 5 lakes that surround fuji. I headed for lake kawaguchiko, the biggest of them and spent most of the day walking around it, walking a total of 11 miles. The lake is reminiscent of on of the Italian lakes and was nice enough even without Fuji being there. By mid afternoon I finally got the view I'd been hoping ...

Today was the turn of theme park FujiQ Highland, it seems like every day I wan't to do something cultural or educational it buckets with rain and we scuttle back to hotels and the days we do theme parks are beautiful! Anyway I can't complain about the weather today, it was lovely, a bit chilly because of the altitude especially in the evening after a couple of water rides but other than that it was sunny blue ...
