We passed the homes of the Bai, meaning white, people. I think that’s a reference to their homes, not their skin. They have beautiful double story houses with grey stone coynes and white plastering with a grey, black and white motif painted onto the white. Its a typical style of the Dali area.

After Andy asked in 3 places if we could stay there overnight, he was finally successful on the forth try in the centre of Dali, in a car park. ...

We only got to spend one full day here which was a shame, but in that day we went to a temple with practicing women buddhists, to listen to traditional Chinese music.
