... can be disregarded because overall the scenery is still so perfect.

*For the first time on our trip we decide to eat at our hotel. It seems a shame not to enjoy the facilities. We order 4 dishes - dried beef with mint, diced chicken with chilli, a local eggplant dish and a portion of green vegetables, again with chilli. It must be good because everything, absolutely everything, is eaten.

Very old buildings enclosed inside a big wall set by Er Hai lake (7th biggest freshwater lake in China) at an altitude of 1900m and with the 4000m high Cang Shan mountains behind. It was a much nicer sunny day the next day and i saw a poster for Yoga by the huge lake so i thought why not give it a go, got ...

... modest VW Santana, huge trucks, small one cylinder farm trucks stopped by the side of the road to load up and even a herd of goats.

Just before the accident we stopped for a "washroom break" at what looked like a bus terminal and were given a numbered lanyard to wear – entrance ticket? No – it turned out to be a humongous shopping centre and the number was to record the drivers commission if we bought something. Anyway it was ...
