... it looked like they were only practicing as they were in casual clothes. Eli checked with a couple of officials what was going on – it was a Mozart concert that was free and was starting at 9.30pm. I saved some seats and Eli hurried back to see if Mike and Kyria were interested. They came back in about half an hour. We still had a couple of hours before it started so we took turns in going to find something to eat. There were a couple of older ...

Day 294 2 hrs, 3.4 kms I thought I could catch a train from Bra on east to Asti, but no... I have to backtrack a long ways and make a big looparound unfortunately. This really sets me behind and I suddenly realize that if I'm going to visit both Asti and Allessandra provinces today, I'm going to have to make this a very short visit. ...

My first stop, Cavallomaggiore is a small town with lots and lots of churches... several in each block. I stop in a shop and the shopkeeper gets to chatting with me and I ask her about it. "People are quite religious here" she goes on to tell me about the religious trips she has gone ...

... cross the Po River--the great river running through Italy's fertile north plains, with grandiose monuments all along the bridge. On the other side, up the streets winding up the mountains, supposedly there's supposed to be a youth hostel. I keep looking... looking... I find the spot where it's supposed to be... but it's not there. Finally I ask some of the neighbors, and they tell me the hostel has been moved elsewhere. Someone is kind enough to give ...
